AD 2.20

LOCAL AERODROME REGULATIONS

1. A visual circuit of 700 FT AGL (1400 FT) AMSL around Safdarjung Aerodrome is available for light aircraft operating at or from Safdarjung Airport.

 

2. Operations at Safdarjung Airport are permitted only during the hours of day-light and in meteorological conditions specified below:

 

a) Ceiling not below 2000 ft.

b) Ground visibility not less than 5 KM at both Safdarjung Airport and IGI Airport.

3. a) Left-hand circuit for RWY 30 and right-hand circuit for RWY 12 shall be in use at Safdarjung Aerodrome and the aircraft shall at no time proceed South of the drain.

b) All aircraft operating to/from Safdarjung aerodrome shall avoid overflying the prohibited airspace in the North and no aircraft shall operate North of the RWY 12/30 to ensure compliance with this procedure.

c) After take-off from RWY 30, the aircraft approaching Nehru Park shall commence gradual climbing left turn and shall complete the turn not later than Niti Marg, exercising caution to avoid Akbar Hotel and NDMC Building during the turn.

 

4. All aircraft operating within Safdarjung Aerodrome Traffic Zone shall maintain two-way communication with Aerodrome Control Tower on Appropriate VHF Channel.

 

5. Pilots are warned to be extremely careful while operating from/to IGI Airport in View of small aircraft/helicopter operations from Safdarjung Airport.

 

6. Except official flights which may include The President of India, The Vice President of India, The Prime Minister and Union Ministers, Governors of States, Chief Ministers of States, CPMFS and Pawan Hans, no flying activity is permitted. Flights other than these are required to obtain the clearance from The Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. Of India.
