ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

1. Range limitation of 40NM for UHF/VHF RT equipment due to permanent obstructions.

2. One non-standard wind direction indicator installed on right side of approach for RWY 07 on Gompa Hill for additional wind information for all the aircraft on base leg and final approach for RWY 07 only. However, wind may vary at touchdown for RWY 07 due to topographical condition.

3. Permanent obstruction: Arrester barrier huts on both shoulders abeam dumbbell 07. Distance from runway edge 22.5 m, height 5.3 m, width 5 m, length 7 m. All aircraft to exercise caution while landing and take-off.

4. Standard Departure for RWY 25:

i. After departure turn right for point NIMU and over point NIMU, in a climbing left turn, establish W39 and contact Northern Control for en-route traffic information.

ii. In case standard departure cannot be executed due to weather conditions, aircraft to climb straight ahead (runway heading) to at least 12000 FT (QNH) maintaining visual clearance from all the obstructions. Continuing climb and maintaining uninterrupted visual contact with terrain aircraft to initiate left turn after crossing Gompa Hill to intercept W39. Aircraft to maintain an uninterrupted visual contact with terrain until passing FL 250. Once established on ATS Route W39 and after passing FL 250, the flight plan is to be converted to IFR for en-route phase. Contact northern control for en-route traffic information.

5. All scheduled/non-scheduled operators to produce pre-payment voucher for refuelling facilities at Kargil airfield.)

6. All civil operators are to strictly ensure that no aerial/ground photography of IAF assets are taken by the crew/passengers while operating at air force station Leh.

7.Standard RWY shoulders and cleared zone not available for both runways. Levelled and graded shoulder of 100 FT available for both rwy.)

8.All outstation rotary wing aircraft planning EOBT 1400 IST (1330 UTC) or after or coming for night halt to obtain positive clearance before departure due to strong surface winds and gale during afternoon.
