1. DEPARTURE PROCEDURE
1.1 Cruising Level shall be notified to Gwalior tower at least 10 min before pushback / start
up call.
1.2 Pilot shall complete all mandatory pre departure checks before entering the active
runway for departure so that the aircraft is in a position to take off immediately upon
receipt of take-off clearance.
1.3 When the aircraft is issued with a line up and take-off clearance at taxi holding position,
it shall be in a position to line up and affect an immediate take off in one continuous
movement.
1.4 When the aircraft is issued with a take-off clearance after lining up on the runway, it
shall commence take off roll immediately upon receipt of take-off clearance.
1.5 If the controller observes a delay in respect of the departing aircraft in commencing its
take-off run after issuance of take-off clearance, the take-off clearance will be
cancelled, and the aircraft will be advised to vacate the runway immediately at the
nearest taxiway to make way for the subsequent arrival or departure.
1.6 Level restrictions for departing traffic:
a) W10N (Northbound Flights): All departing traffic from Gwalior via W-10N
towards Delhi and Jammu are cleared to climb to a flight level in co-ordination
with Delhi Area and Agra ATC. Further climb above that level shall be effected
in co-ordination with Agra ATC on 125.0 MHz and Delhi area on 125.7 MHz.
b) W 10S (Southbound Flights): All departing traffic from Gwalior via W-10S
towards Bhopal are cleared to a flight level in co-ordination with Delhi Area.
All aircraft are to route beyond BILAN after achieving positive two-way
communication with Nagpur Area on 123.9 MHz.
c) W 33S (Southeast bound Flights): All departing traffic from Gwalior via W-
33S towards Khajuraho are cleared to a flight level in co-ordination with Delhi Area. All aircraft are to establish positive two-way communication with
Varanasi Area 128.15 MHz on before entering Varanasi FIR.
1.7 Restrictions due to aerodrome proximity of Danger/Restricted areas around aerodrome:
a) All departing aircraft from Runway 24L shall climb to at least 6000 feet before
commencing left turn to establish W-10S & W-33S to overfly Gwalior town not
below 6000 ft AMSL.
b) All departing aircraft from Gwalior shall climb above safety altitude published
for VID 99 (as per NOTAM when range is active) before overflying the danger
area.
1.8 Direct Routings through VIR 153A, VIR 153B, VIR 153C and VIR 143 (Gwalior
LFA):
a) All aircraft requesting for direct route through VIR 153A, VIR 153B, VIR 153C
and VIR 143 (Gwalior LFA) below flight level 300 shall do so only after
achieving prior co-ordination with Gwalior ATC.
